How to Deposit on Fomo: Four Methods, and Why DEAL Comes First
Sign up with code DEAL first through fomo.family/r/deal, then deposit from the plus sign next to your cash balance on the Profile tab. Fomo offers up to four methods there: Crypto, Apple Pay, Debit Card, and Exchanges and apps. Each account sees only the methods open to it, and crypto (USDC) deposits work everywhere Fomo does.
Which method fits
A method missing from your deposit screen isn't offered to your account.
| Method | What happens | Good fit for |
|---|---|---|
| Crypto | You send USDC to the address Fomo shows for a network | Anyone, in any place Fomo serves |
| Debit Card | A bank-issued debit card adds USDC to your cash balance, usually within minutes | People whose country and bank allow card deposits |
| Apple Pay ("Buy with Apple Pay") | Buys one specific token directly, through Crossmint | Buying a chosen token in one step, within the limits |
| Exchanges and apps | Pay with Coinbase, from your Coinbase account | People who already hold funds at Coinbase |
Crypto: the network has to match
- Tap the plus sign, then Crypto.
- Pick the network you will send on.
- Copy the address Fomo shows for that network.
- From your wallet or exchange, send only USDC, on that same network.
Fomo takes USDC on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad and Ethereum. Once the network confirms the transfer, it shows up, usually within seconds to minutes.
Robinhood Chain works differently. There you send USDG, not USDC, with a minimum of 0.50 USDG, and Fomo converts it into your Solana USDC cash balance. USDC sent to Robinhood Chain is the wrong match, and so is USDG sent on any other network.
If the network on the sending side differs from the one picked in Fomo, the funds don't appear in your account. Read the network name on both screens before you press send.
Debit card: why a payment fails
Fomo takes bank-issued debit cards on this method. Its help center points to these causes when a payment doesn't go through:
- Details don't match. The billing address, ZIP or postcode, and CVV must match what your bank has on file.
- The bank blocks it. Some banks block crypto purchases. Call your bank and ask.
- Wrong kind of card. Cash App Card, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal and Apple Cash cards are not accepted on Debit Card. Some accounts see Cash App under Exchanges and apps and can pay that way.
- No card option at all. Card deposits depend on the country. Where they aren't offered, buy USDC on an exchange that operates in your country and send it in as a crypto deposit.
A failed attempt can leave a pending charge on your statement. It's a temporary hold, and it is released within 1 to 3 business days.
Apple Pay: two different paths
Apple Pay shows up in two places, and they don't do the same thing.
- Inside Debit Card. The Debit Card screen can switch to Apple Pay when your debit card is saved in Apple Wallet. The money lands in your cash balance, like a normal card deposit.
- Buy with Apple Pay, the separate method. This buys a specific token directly, through Crossmint. It takes bank-issued debit or credit cards only. Apple Cash, prepaid and virtual cards don't work.
The separate method has limits. The daily limit is $2,500, and it resets at 12 AM EST. Depending on the account, there may also be a weekly limit and a total cap; the deposit screen shows what's left. After too many attempts, wait at least an hour before trying again. It may not be available in some regions.
Exchanges and apps
This method is Pay with Coinbase, and it needs a Coinbase account. You don't need Coinbase to deposit by card or Apple Pay.
Deposits and code DEAL
Order matters here. A referral code attaches only while the account is being created, and there's no field to enter one afterwards. Depositing first and looking for a code later doesn't work.
Once you trade with what you deposited, DEAL's offer applies: 10% Off + Fee Cashback. Fomo charges 0.45% instead of 0.50% on a standard spot trade, and the DEAL code owner pays back 12.5% of the Fomo fees you pay, in USDC. A deposit on its own earns no cashback; it counts from your first trade. More: Fomo's fees, line by line and cashback with DEAL.

Questions
How long does a Fomo deposit take?
A crypto deposit appears once the network confirms it, usually within seconds to minutes. A debit card deposit is usually ready within minutes.
What happens if USDC is sent on the wrong network?
It doesn't show up in your Fomo account. Pick the network in Fomo first, copy that network's address, and send on the same network. Robinhood Chain takes USDG only.
Why is there no Debit Card option?
Card deposits depend on the country, and each account sees only its own methods. USDC bought on an exchange that operates in your country, then sent as a crypto deposit, works anywhere Fomo does.
Can a Cash App or Venmo card be used?
Not on Debit Card. Cash App Card, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal and Apple Cash cards are not accepted there. Some accounts see Cash App under Exchanges and apps instead.
Can DEAL be added after the first deposit?
No. A code attaches only while the account is created, whatever happens afterwards. If you signed up through a link and no referrer was recorded, contact support in the app: Profile, Settings, Help and Support, Contact Support.
